I saw this sign while visiting the Richmond community in London. You may recall this village from one of my favorite TV shows, Ted Lasso.

When Ted began his job as a football (soccer) coach, he didn't know anything about British soccer, but he had faith that relying on his core values would save the day.

I loved this sign's message. We can all be heroes, just in different ways. Some will wear capes, some will wear gorgeous jewelry, while others will wear blue jeans (or something else). The point is that it's not what you wear on the outside, it's what's inside that counts. Of course this sign was on the door post of a jewelry shop, so maybe for them, it is about the jewelry.

This wasn't the only shop that embraced "being Ted Lasso," and many even had "Believe" signs posted. Here's a photo of a barber shop, so you can see what I mean.

I had two additional take-aways from visitng Richmond. The first is that keeping your values and aspirations visible helps keep you grounded. The second is that humor and self-deprication enhance likeability. These are all traits of true leaders - whether they be political leaders or business leaders.
